The Department of the Interior launched a devastating three-pronged attack on BLM wilderness, National Monuments and the National Landscape Conservation System.
On April 15, 2003, the Arizona Wilderness Coalition unveiled a citizens' wilderness proposal identifying approximately 950,000 acres of public land for wilderness designation along the Arizona Strip north of Grand Canyon National Park.
