  • Wide Array of Interests Voice Unanimous Support for Protecting Browns Canyon (CO)

  • On August 29, 2005, a public hearing was held to provide citizens an opportunity to express their opinions regarding the potential wilderness designation for Browns Canyon, near Salida, CO. The speakers unanimously supported designating Browns Canyon as Wilderness and specifically supported the boundaries proposed by the Colorado Wilderness Network.
     
  • Three Western States File Challenge to Bush Administration's Roadless Rule

  • The Attorneys General of California, New Mexico, and Oregon filed the first legal challenges to the Bush Administration’s plan allowing states to petition the federal government for protection of roadless areas in our National Forests.
