In This Issue

  • Cedar Mountains Wilderness Bill Reintroduced

  • On April 6, 2005, Representative Rob Bishop (R-UT) introduced H.R. 1503 which would prevent high-level nuclear waste storage in Utah’s West Desert, preserve Utah’s military training capabilities, and protect 100,000 acres of magnificent, desert range known as the Cedar Mountains as wilderness.

  • Deschutes County Commissioners Decline to Take Position on Oregon’s Badlands Wilderness Despite Strong Local Support

  • On March 30, 2005, the Deshutes County (OR) Commission decided to take no position on the Badlands Wilderness proposal -- much to the disappointment of local conservation groups and local citizens who support the protection of the area.
