  • that Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle is urging federal elected officials to designate the Apostle Islands as wilderness and name the area for former Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson.
     
  • Bush Administration Blocks Park Wilderness Plans

  • PEER is charging that the Bush Administration is blocking National Park wilderness plans.
     
  • New Poll Shows 71% of Voters Support Wild Sky Wilderness

  • A new poll, released 9/18/2003, finds that 71 percent of voters in Washington state's 8th congressional district support the Wild Sky Wilderness Act, which would protect an important recreational area in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest east of Seattle.
